Did you know that almost 75% of our business comes from existing customer referrals.  Given your continued and profound support, we wanted to come up with a way to thank you.  For any new Yacht Solutions customers that you refer to WheelHouse, we will provide both you and them with one free month of subscription.  Fleet Solutions customers are also eligible for this promotion.

Boat Builder and Service Partners

The start of 2017 has certainly been a busy one for WheelHouse. The beginning of the year saw me travelling all over the country to attend various industry events and conferences. The part of the job that I enjoy as I get to meet some truly inspiring people from the industry. The start of 2017 has also shown us expansion in our service and boat builder partner network.

On my travels in January I met up with Larry Schildwachter from Emerald Harbor Marine at the Seattle Boat Show. What a great guy and great company. A quick chat in his booth turned into an hour long in depth conversation about his passion for the marine industry.

Larry and Emerald Harbor Marine have been providing exceptional service to the yacht and commercial marine industry in the Pacific North West since 1991.

Emerald Harbor Marine specialize in vessel systems installation, service and repair for the serious cruiser and commercial operation and is always highly spoken of by our yacht customers.

This can only mean one thing, Emerald Harbor Marine is a great partner  to represent WheelHouse  in the pacific NorthWest.

 

Later in February I had the opportunity to meet James and Knight and the team at Yacht Tech Inc. at their office in North Palm Beach, Florida.

James formed Yacht Tech Inc. about 18 years ago specializing in service, repair and brokerage of Nordhavn yachts. Their knowledge and experience of Nordhavn trawlers in second to none.

A quick stroll along the docks in North Palm Beach and you will find Yacht Tech working on almost every Nordhavn yacht around. That must say something!

We are very excited to have Yacht Tech as one of our service partners.

 

Rounding out the first quarter of 2017 we are also very excited to welcome FPB Boats / Circa Marine, Located in Auckland New Zealand, to our Boat Builder Partner Network.

The word expedition cruising takes on a whole new meaning when you are talking about FPB Boats. They are designed to go pretty much anywhere on the planet, as long as there’s water under the keel !

We have been working informally with FPB Boats for a number of years and built a great relationship that we look forward to growing. WheelHouse is now standard spec on all FPB boats.

Two years ago WheelHouse completed an Owners Manual, Wheelhouse implementation and parts outfitting on Argo, an Outer Reef 88 in conjunction with our Partner Outer Reef Yachts and the vessel owners in preparation for a once of a lifetime cruise around Cape Horn.  “A Journey Realized” was published in the April 2017 issue of NorthWest Yachting and was written by Paul Hawran, the Owner and Captain of Argo.  WheelHouse was glad to provide support on this trip and wish them the best in future adventures.

 

 

 

Help Wanted – Commercial Program Manager

WheelHouse Technologies, Inc. provides the yacht and commercial marine industries with turnkey maintenance management solutions that deliver robust content in an easy-to-use (Saas) format. WheelHouse includes planned and corrective maintenance management, maintenance history, inventory control, work order management, warranty tracking, electronic documentation, and many other features essential to maintaining the safety, reliability, and value of our customer’s vessels.

With the continued expansion of our commercial fleet, WheelHouse is looking for a dedicated Commercial Program Manager to compile and integrate maintenance recommendations, documentation, and spare parts guidelines within the WheelHouse maintenance system architecture. This contract position is home-based but does require regular office visits for training and technical reviews, therefore all applicants shall be based in the New England Area.

Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to compiling and auditing vessel specifications and system manuals; performing spare parts recommendations; developing maintenance and safety procedures; and compiling all data into WheelHouse. Consulting customers on system integration; providing project status, as well as system training and customer support. The role also requires the organization and integration of customer provided specifications and procedures, vessel and warehouse inventory, and USCG and Class requirements

Qualifications:
All applicants must have a background in the commercial maritime industry and system knowledge is preferred. Experience in the passenger vessel; tug & tow; or military sector is a plus. Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with either paper based or electronic planned maintenance programs. Applicants must be detail oriented and be self-motivated. This is a part / full time contract position with possible conversion to full-time employment and most work can be performed virtually.

Must be a self-motivated professional.
Communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
Ability to work under pressure meeting continuing deadlines.
Ability to travel domestic & international (passport required)
Clean background for TWIC / CAC card
Home Office with business grade computer, phone, and high speed internet

Boston Fire Department Marine Unit Selects WheelHouse

The city of Boston, MA has selected WheelHouse to provide a maintenance management program with Turnkey Implementation for their fleet of three vessels  This implementation included vessel walkdowns to gather information on installed equipment; development of a document repository; compiling maintenance guidelines; and providing spare parts recommendations.

The City of Boston Marine Units fleet consists of three vessels including a 70′ SeaArk, a 30′ Ribcraft; and their newest vessel is a 32′ Armstrong.
